I've got a list of games that I would like to complete but I'm not going to be too upset if I don't get all of them as long as I hit that 52. Last time I was able to complete the 52 game challenge was in 2019, this year I'm completing it again. There are a ton of games I haven't played in 10, 15, 20, and even over 25-years that I really want to go back and revisit during this year's 52 game challenge!ġ. This has been both good and bad in terms of my opinion on certain games, but overall it's something I've greatly enjoyed. It's almost like I'm playing an entirely different game when I go back and replay them sometimes. As I've gone back and replayed games from my childhood and teens I've noticed how different my perspective on many of them are compared to when I first played them. Escape for a few hours and put it to rest. This year I'm actually going to be focusing on a lot of games I have beat already, but not in a long, long time. Replay/Endgame: This is a game you will play once and then will be done. Also, not always responsive to button mashing and that caused some confusion on my part as to if I had actually hit the correct button. However, there are some boss fights that require a lot of switching of weapons unlike Zelda. Switching between items is a real pain and stop the action entirely…but not too unlike a Zelda like. AI is cycles of action with the AI being drawn to your character’s location for battle.Ĭontrols: This was the most frustrating part of the game for me. Loot is typically for fulfilling fetch questsĪI/NPCs: NPC Dialogue is “if this then that” basic. We are avoiding taxes so that is probably a good thing. Post Human world with sentient vegetation.Ĭurrency/Loot: No real currency to speak of. World Building: Just enough world building to set context for your quest and/or battle. V/O: not in this turnip world…besides…what would Onion even sound like? Music/Effects: Area’s have their own themes. Hell you don’t even have arms.Īrt/Animation: Pixel based cuteness exploration and combat. Report back to Mayor Onion who is extorting you for his tasks around town because you haven’t paid your taxes! But who are you going to tell? You don’t talk. Uncover mysteries! Like…what happened to the humans?! Equip passive equipment like boots, fireproof clothing and etc to complete tasks. Rip It Up! Steal old man lemon’s watering can! Earn a shovel. Talk to Sentient and Charming Fruits and Vegetables that make up the world in Turnip Boy. Zelda Like! Avoid the rotten! Avenge your father’s Death. Along the journey uncover what’s spoiling this garden community and rise to tear down the corrupt vegetable government! Garden tools to solve plantastic puzzles, meet eccentric vegetables and fruits, and take on treacherous fights. ![]() After failing to pay taxes and getting evicted from your home, you must go on an epic quest to pay back your massive debt to Mayor Onion. Take control of an adorable turnip who happens to be an absolute menace to society. Avoid paying taxes, solve plantastic puzzles, harvest crops and battle massive beasts all in a journey to tear down a corrupt vegetable government! Play as an adorable yet trouble-making turnip. Me Playing – Do you think you could play the audio (at low volume) to the game when we play the video for the stream? It is muted enough that I think the podcast listeners would enjoy it as background music and may help set the mood.
